Philosophy
Home is a place that extends beyond the physical boundaries of your house. It’s a place where you create memories and strengthen social bonds with family, neighbors, and community.
Your home should be a place where you feel rooted, comfortable, and secure. It should be functional for your daily activities and support your goals while remaining flexible enough to evolve with time.
Your home’s design should reflect your own style and personality, not someone else’s. I believe in recommending authentic and sustainable materials, products from local and small businesses, and hunting for antiques or mixing in pieces you already own as a way of practicing ethical design.
About Me
My father always used to tell me if you weren’t happy with something, it was time to make a change. After losing him to cancer in 2014, I was inspired to take his advice and changed my entire career path. Following nine years of experience in the corporate world, I returned to school for a Master of Arts in Interior Design.
I’ve always had a love and appreciation for art and design, as well as problem solving. Interior Design allows me to combine these passions with the client relations and interpersonal skills I’ve gained over the years.
I received my Master of Arts in Interior Design from Marymount University in 2019, and my Bachelor of Arts in 2006 from Washington University in St. Louis in International Studies, minoring in Japanese Language & Culture.
A native of DC, I still live in the city with my husband, Gregory O’Hanlon, and our dog, Bevyn.
